HOW DOES L-CITRULLINE MALATE WORK?
In order to fully understand how L-Citrulline Malate works, we need to break it down into the two components of the formula.
Citrulline is absorbed by the kidneys and converted into arginine (amino acid) and via arginine, Citrulline raises levels in ornithine (amino acid). These three amino acids work together to form the urea cycle. The purpose of the urea cycle is to eliminate toxic ammonia from the body to converts it into urea in the mitochondria of liver cells. Conversion of toxic ammonia helps to support sports performance and cardiovascular health.
Citrulline also helps your body metabolise protein and nitrogen which assists blood vessel dilation and promotes circulation, resulting in an increase in Nitric Oxide production. An increase in Nitric Oxide production reduces fatigue and preserves strength and power output during exercise.
Mallate is often bound to a variety of supplements in order to give them stability. Malate also has its own range of benefits. It supports your body's own ability to recycle exercise-generated lactic acid and use it for energy.
