A wonderful set of mid c. 1940 skis! These skis feature a ‘nipple/ pointed’ tip, cable bear trap bindings made by Geisert in Seattle Washington as well as early metal edges. The metal edges were screwed in place with 48 individually and carefully placed screws per edge! Stamped with GB (Gerber Brothers). Made from Ash and wonderfully preserved with a deep golden patina. Remnants of old Northland Co. wax still grace the bottom of the skis.
One point about the "Ridgetop" that is interesting. This was an upgrade from the previous versions of a flat ski - to help with the chatter or vibration from skiing at high speeds. Vintage vibration dampening technology.
